Sean McNulty

Sean is Chairman and founding director of Dolmen, Ireland’s leading product design and innovation consultancy. Sean was one of the first students of product design from an Irish University and went on to work at Kilkenny Design Workshops for a number of years before setting up Dolmen 25 years ago. Sean was one of the first presidents of the Irish Design Institute, was key in the development of new national Universal Design standards, and has represented Ireland on the development of a European standard in Innovation Management.

Dolmen is an internationally award winning, IP generating consultancy that works with multinationals, dynamic SMEs and entrepreneurs in the areas of ICT (sensors, telecoms), Med Tech and FMCG. Clients include Diageo, Hollister, Medtronic, GE, ABB, Klas Telecom, Moocall. However, we are seeing more and more convergence between all of these areas with the emergence of cheaper electronics and connected devices.

Our talk will be on the importance of design in the context of smart devices. There is no point in developing an amazing technology if nobody can use it!
