Niall has worked in various roles in film and television post production for the past 15 years. As well
as directing content for television, he has also created large scale audio-visual pieces for many
museums and exhibitions nationally and internationally. He has worked in visual effects for feature
film, as an editor in film and television and has created content for projects as diverse as the RTE
newsroom and the Irish Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo. He has a passion for bringing new
technology to visual storytelling which brought him to virtual reality.
As well as creating an interactive virtual reality experience for the Irish Defence Forces, he also
directed a 360 partner video for RTEs science and technology programme ’10 Things To Know
About…”. Niall is dedicated to bringing virtual reality to the masses.

Since Facebook acquired Oculus VR for $2 billion in March 2015, virtual reality has been heralded
as the forerunner of the next wave of technological innovation. Its claimed that it will open doors to
not only new forms of entertainment, but also new ways of working.
But how can brands and organisations leverage this new technology? In 2016 the Irish Defence
Forces launched an ambitions attempt to find out. In this talk, Niall will discuss the project and what
lessons can be learned for business interested in how virtual reality can work for them.
