Director, Learnovate Centre at Trinity College Dublin
Presentation Title:
EdTech – a global Irish success story
Presentation Synopsis:
The global market for education and learning technology is estimated to be worth over $250 Billion by 2017. A report from Docebo confirms that the market has grown consistently over the past few years and that all subsectors (content, authoring tools and platforms) are predicted to continue to show growth. According to CB Insights, investment levels reached over €3bn with 491 deals in the US alone in 2015.
As with other technology sectors, Ireland has been boxing well above its weight in this area. Innovative Irish technology companies are leading the way globally in EdTech. Dr. Farrows will give insight to these successes and talk about the unique ecosystem that exists here in Ireland. Supported by Government initiatives like Learnovate, a Technology Centre supported by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland, the sector has real potential to establish Ireland further as the go-to place for EdTech innovation.
